Korean Garlic Cheese Bread is unlike anything you’ve ever had before. It’s sweet and savory with a punch of garlic flavor. The bread has two types of cheese in it, cream cheese and tons of mozzarella cheese. As well as an ingredient that isn’t usually found in garlic bread, condensed milk! At first, the idea of sweet garlic bread totally threw me off but it works and it’s super tasty!
Jump to RecipeWhere to find Korean Garlic Cheese Bread?
You can find it in most Asian bakeries! Most savory baked goods in Asian bakeries are also on the sweeter side so let this be your warning so you’re not too surprised.
But don’t worry, they’re all delicious!
But, what does it taste like?
Korean Garlic Bread is sweet. If you’re not a sweet and savory fan then you may not like these but I encourage you to try it anyways! The garlic butter sauce has condensed milk which sweetens the rolls quite a bit but the cream cheese filling also includes sugar. It kind of reminds me of a garlicky cheese cake? I definitely was hesitant to try these when I first laid my eyes on them because everyone warned me of their sweetness but it actually works quite well. Korean Garlic Bread is also a bit heavier than traditional garlic bread due to the addition of heavy cream and cream cheese. I add cheese to my Korean garlic bread but you don’t have to! I just love a good cheese pull.

Ingredients that you will need:
Brioche Rolls or any type of bread rolls. I like using Brioche because it’s firm on the outside but soft on the inside. You can also use traditional yeast rolls like Hawaiian bread but I find it to be a tad too soft to be able to hold up the cheese and butter.

Garlic Butter Sauce:
1/2 cup melted butter (1 stick of butter)

2 tbsp minced garlic (4-6 garlic cloves) – you can always use more or less depending on your preference!

1 tbsp condensed milk- this throws people off but it’s an important part of Korean Garlic Bread! If you don’t have condensed milk, you can replace it with sugar.

1 egg – this helps the garlic butter sauce adhere to the bread better. If you can’t eat eggs then it is okay to omit but the sauce may slide off of your bread a bit.

2 tbsp dried parsley – you can of course use fresh parsley but the dried stuff works just as good!

3 tbsp heavy cream

Cream Cheese Mixture
8 oz cream cheese

1 tbsp sugar – this will make the cream cheese mixture sweet. If you don’t want it to be as sweet, you can either omit or use less sugar.

1 tbsp heavy cream

A lot of mozzarella cheese- as much as your heart desires.

Instructions:
- Cut two slits into your brioche or bread roll creating four corners.

- Mix together all the ingredients of the garlic butter sauce in a bowl.

- In another bowl, cream together your cream cheese, sugar and heavy cream.

- Fill a piping bag with the cream cheese mixture. I used ziploc bag since it works the same.

- Fill the brioche rolls with the cream cheese mixture forming two lines that cross each other.

- Carefully turn the rolls upside down and dip them into the garlic butter sauce.

- Top with however much mozzarella cheese you want.

- Bake at 350F for 8-10 minutes.

- Enjoy!
