For tonight’s dinner, Jin made the members fresh nigiri! The only problem was that he used a bit too much wasabi and sent the members into a coughing fit. It’s okay though! We can learn from his mistakes and be more cautious when making our own nigiri.
I am using flatfish today to make my nigiri but you can use any fresh sushi grade fish that you have available. This is essentially a basic sushi rice recipe!
- 1/3 cup rice vinegar
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup sushi rice
- Slice the flatfish.
- Season the sushi rice with the sushi seasoning. Start off with 1-2 tbsp and adjust to your personal preference.
- Form the rice into ovals.
- Put a small amount of wasabi on each piece of rice.
- Top with the flatfish.
